Mountain House was laid out from the start as a set of villages, each with its own school and park. The first homes were built in Wicklund in 2003. Newer villages, including College Park and the Lakes, are still adding streets today.
Mountain House sits at the first exit east of the Altamont, where I-205 and I-580 divide. For buyers coming from the East Bay, it offers newer homes and more room without giving up the commute.
Residents voted in 2024 to incorporate, and Mountain House became the newest city in California that July. Safeway and the Market at Mountain House opened in 2022, Town Hall and the library in 2020, and a new fire station is under way. Errands that once meant a drive to Tracy now happen in town.
Each village has its own character and its own buyers. A twenty-year-old home in Wicklund and a new build on the newest streets are marketed differently, and Jack has sold in all of them.
